DISCLOSURE DOCUMENT

3. MEET YOUR FRANCHISE DEVELOPMENT LIAISON & QUALIFY AS PUPATELLA

1. SUBMIT YOUR FRANCHISE INFORMATION REQUEST FORM

Please complete a franchise information request form. Once your form is completed, a member of our team will contact you to discuss franchise opportunities with Pupatella. Based upon that conversation, we may email you a link to our franchise application. You may also contact us by phone to begin the franchise process at 703.825.6334.

2. COMPLETE YOUR FRANCHISE APPLICATION & RECEIVE/REVIEW FRANCHISE

Once you've received the franchise application link, please complete the full application.  If our review of your fully completed application tells us that you are a good potential match for our system, we will send you Pupatella’s "Franchise Disclosure Document" (FDD). This document allows thorough due diligence, as it includes a detailed investment breakdown, certain financial performance information for the company-owned/operated location, franchising fee structure, and information regarding training and franchisor support. Once received, please sign and return the acknowledgment of receipt page promptly. 

FRANCHISEE 

Your application will be forwarded to a franchise development liaison overseeing development in your desired area. The liaison will contact you to discuss the details of your application and help us determine whether you qualify as a Pupatella franchisee. 

4. SCHEDULE AND ATTEND DISCOVERY DAY

Following your qualification as a Pupatella franchisee, you will be invited to Pupatella’s offices for a Discovery Day to meet the founders and staff of Pupatella and learn our history, get further insight on our franchise support infrastructure, tour and have lunch at the flagship Pupatella location, and so much more.  This is an opportunity to get to know each other and for both sides to decide if we are a good match. It’s a full day of getting to know your future partners.  Discovery Days will typically be held on Fridays.

5. SIGN LETTER OF INTENT

At the conclusion of the Discovery Day, if approved, you will continue with the process of becoming a franchise partner by completing a non-binding letter of intent (LOI). The Letter of Intent will state the desired geographic area to be developed, the number of restaurants desired to be developed, and the timeline for development. The LOI will also reserve your desired geographic area for a period of time (usually 30 days) so that you may complete your due diligence and franchise documents can be reviewed prior to final documents being issued.

6. EXECUTE YOUR FRANCHISE AGREEMENT 

After we complete a credit and background check, we will issue you a final Franchise Agreement and Multi-Unit Development Agreement (for multi-unit developers). Review and sign the final agreements and you are officially a Pupatella franchisee!

7. FIND THE RIGHT SITE & EXECUTE THE LEASE

The franchise liaison and your real estate broker will assist you as you search for the ideal restaurant site. Once you have identified your ideal site(s), your franchise liaison will assist you in submitting a site evaluation package to our real estate department and scheduling a site visit for final approval to enter into a lease.  


Once you receive approval from our real estate department, you will begin negotiating lease terms and work towards the execution of your lease. Your franchise liaison and our real estate personnel will provide guidance on best practices as you negotiate the business terms of your letter of intent (precursor to a lease) and lease.  Once your lease has been executed, work with our pool of vendors and selected contractors to design and build-out your Pupatella restaurant.

8. ATTEND OWNER & MANAGEMENT TRAINING

Approximately four weeks prior to your scheduled restaurant opening, you and your management team will attend a comprehensive owner and management training program hosted in our flagship Pupatella restaurant and at our Home Office.  Detailed training will teach you and your staff how to effectively operate a Pupatella restaurant. You will learn the “System” and both back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH) management.

9. DEVELOP YOUR GRAND OPENING MARKETING PLAN

Local marketing is imperative to your success as a Pupatella restaurant operator.  You will develop a comprehensive grand opening plan with the support of our Home Office.  Your grand opening plan will include both your initial marketing launch strategy and your strategy for your first year of marketing activities.

10. OPEN YOUR PUPATELLA!

Welcome to Pupatella - let the excitement begin! Your franchise liaison will facilitate scheduling your store opening with our opening training staff. During your opening, our store opening training staff will work alongside you and your crew at your restaurant, helping to ensure that you provide your guests with the Pupatella experience and food that brings them back again and again.
